Working Principle of Simo Motor's SYQ8 Series Fully Enclosed Liquid Resistance Starting Cabinet

For a wound - rotor asynchronous motor, when the grid voltage and frequency remain constant, by connecting a starting resistor in the rotor circuit that decreases as the motor speed increases, on one hand, the starting current can be reduced, and on the other hand, a relatively large starting torque can be obtained throughout the process. The Simo Motor's SYQ8 series liquid resistance starting cabinet utilizes this principle for starting. It uses an aqueous solution of a special medium as the resistance. In a specially designed liquid resistance tank, electrodes are introduced as polar plates. After connecting the resistors in a star configuration, they are connected in series to the motor rotor circuit. When the starting cabinet receives the motor starting signal, a small - power servo motor drives the polar plates to move, changing their relative positions. This causes the liquid resistance (connected in series to the rotor circuit) to change steplessly from large to small. When the resistance reaches its minimum value, the short - circuit contact cabinet closes, directly short - circuiting the motor rotor star point, enabling the motor to start smoothly with low current and high torque.
